If you're one of the hundreds of thousands of people who get turned on by a man or woman in uniform then, well, you're one of hundreds of thousands of people. You're not rare, nor are you special in that count. This is not to say that you won't, however, get lucky and get to experience the joys (and perils) of dating military men or women.

The fact is that when a person dons a uniform, and every type of uniform short of a postal worker's uniform, there's a sudden air of mystery, of power, of authority. Okay, even some postal workers are pretty hot in their work clothes, too. Yet there's nothing like the member of the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, and yes, even the Coast Guard (though the jury's still a bit out on the National Guard since those unflattering photos of President Bush in his Guard uniform came out).

The further reality is that not only is dating military personnel sexy and fun, but it offers a vicarious excitement that few can pass up. Hearing daring tales of our servicemen and women as they spent months out at sea or in holed up in a tent somewhere has a healthy, robust and entrancing effect on those who are dating military or simply in earshot of such tales.

Granted, being in any of the armed services is no mean feat and is worthy of much respect, particularly when considering that thousands of people are drummed out of the service each year for a multitude of violations. Some of them simply can't make it through boot camp. With the reality staring one in the face, it is easy to see why such a relationship holds such a sway over so many young people. If you can't BE a top gun, date one and enjoy the ride.

And what a ride it is! Dating military guys and gals is like the spice of life, at least for awhile. People in the military don't have to pay for their food or housing so find themselves content with burning through their pay and spending it equally on anyone that's lucky enough to be around with them, particularly boyfriends and girlfriends. Enjoy the ride, 'cause it'll be fast, dirty, and fun!
